Man Charged With Overnight Burglary At LI Supermarket: Police

The 20-year-old man was taken into custody after being spotted in front of the Point Lookout store where a window was broken, police say.

POINT LOOKOUT, NY — A man was taken into custody early Tuesday for a burglary at a Point Lookout supermarket.

A Nassau County police officer, who was on patrol, heard an active alarm at The Point grocery store at 12 Lido Boulevard.

A man was seen standing in front of the store where a window had been smashed, police said.

An investigation led to the arrest of Christopher Stringer, 20, of Point Lookout, without incident, detectives say.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Hempstead on charges that include burglary, criminal mischief and petit larceny.
