Man Swallows Bag, Believed To Be Cocaine; Taken Into Custody: PD
Arthur Corso was also arrested on Jan. 18 for criminal possession of a controlled substance and fitted with an ankle bracket, police say.

LONG BEACH, NY — An Island Park man was taken into custody for carrying cocaine.
Police noticed a suspicious vehicle on Thursday afternoon on Monroe Boulevard in Long Beach.
The driver refused to comply with officers telling him to put the vehicle in park, detectives said.

The man, Arthur Corso, 58, put a clear plastic bag with a white powdery substance, believed to be cocaine, in his mouth, police said.
The bag was not recovered from the man's mouth. Corso was taken into custody and brought to an area hospital for treatment, detectives said.

He faces multiple charges, including two counts of criminal sale of controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
Corso was previously arrested on June 18 on criminal possession of a controlled substance and was released with no bail and a fitted ankle bracelet, police said.
