More Shark Sightings Halt Swimming In Long Beach
More than 20 sharks have been spotted across Nassau County this summer.

LONG BEACH, NY — Swimming was brought to a halt late afternoon due to more shark sightings off Long Beach.
A spokesperson for the city of Long Beach confirmed the sighting.
A pair of sharks were seen in close proximity "a bit too close to shore," according to their Facebook page.

Red flags were posted. Swimming was prohibited for the remainder of the day, a common ritual this summer, as more than 20 sharks have been seen across Nassau County.
The spinner sharks were located near Riverside Boulevard at approximately 4 p.m., Newsday reported.
