On Monday, the Nassau County Legislature approved a suite of Community Revitalization Projects. Among them was a grant for firefighting equipment for Lido and Point Lookout.

The county approved $80,000 to purchase self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) units for the Lido and Point Lookout Fire District.

“Our firefighters put their lives on the line every time they go out for a call and do so on a volunteer basis," said Nassau County Legislator Denise Ford. "Any help we can provide them to make their jobs safer and to help our residents is a no-brainer. I am proud to provide this funding to the department for the SCBA units.”
