Nassau Firefighters Give Hospital Workers Standing Ovation

Firefighters from many departments came to Mount Sinai South Nassau hospital to thank the healthcare workers there.

OCEANSIDE, NY — Firefighters from all over southern Nassau County came to Oceanside Sunday night to thank the doctors, nurses and other staff members of Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital for their tireless work in combating the coronavirus.

Members from the Oceanside, Baldwin, Freeport, Island Park, Valley Stream, East Rockaway and Lido-Point Lookout fire departments converged in the hospital's parking lot Sunday night to show their appreciation.

The first responders came to applaud the medical professionals who are fighting the virus at the hospital.

Doctors and nurses who came outside were given rock star-like treatment by the crowd.

In addition, Long Beach residents also designed and installed a large "thank you" sign on the hospital grounds.
