BREAKING: Police say the man held up the store at knifepoint, but was arrested a short while later.

An Island Park man was arrested Thursday night after police say that he robbed a store that was just a 15 minute walk from his house.

Police got a call Thursday night for a knifepoint robbery at Classic Market Place, located at 275 Long Beach Road in Island Park. According to police, a man came into the store wielding a knife, pointed it at the clerk, and demanded cash. The clerk emptied out two registers and gave the money to the man.

Officers began an investigation and a short while later located William Yungandreas, 51, near his home. Police say he was found to be in possession of a white, powdery substance believed to be Roxicodone. He was placed under arrest without incident.
