“Khaseen Morris was a bright and gregarious young man whose life was stolen in this horrific and senseless act of violence,” said Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas. “Our condolences are with Khaseen’s family, friends and the entire community that loved this young man.”
According to Singas, around 3:45 p.m. on Sept. 16, Flach and his co-defendants got out of a car on Brower Avenue in Oceanside and walked toward a shopping center. The group attacked Morris and a 16-year-old friend, Singas said. Reports said the fight was over a girl.

During the fight, Singas said that Flach stabbed Morris in the heart. The other teen was beaten and had his arm broken. They were both rushed to a hospital, and Morris died that night.
Flach surrendered himself to police on Sept. 18. His co-defendants surrendered themselves on Sept. 27.
