Nassau Police Looking For Bank Robber

Police say the man demanded money from the teller, then fled with the proceeds. Anyone with information is asked to come forward.

LONG BEACH, NY — Nassau County police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Wednesday morning, and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

According to police, a man entered the Chase Bank, located at 3285 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, at 10:40 a.m. He approached a teller, announced a robbery and demanded money. The teller gave him cash and the man fled east on E. Cortland Avenue.

Police say there were 10 employees and two customers in the bank at the time. No one was injured.

The robber was wearing a black knit hat, a camouflage neck gaiter and a blue flannel shirt.

Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS, or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
