Nassau Police Rescue Stranded, Hypothermic Boater
The man was stranded in a marsh for more than 12 hours before he was finally rescued.

On Wednesday morning, Nassau County police rescued a man who had been stranded in a boat for more than 12 hours .
According to police, a man called the Nassau County Police Marine Bureau at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday and said that his 60-year-old friend was stranded in a 20-foot-long boat somewhere in Reynold's Channel near Duck Point. He said his friend had been stuck there since 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
The police located the man and his boat stuck on a marsh on the north side of the channel. The man was unresponsive, hypothermic and shaking uncontrollably. The Long Beach Fire Department took the man to a local hospital for treatment of hypothermia.
