Polar Bears Take Splash In Long Beach For Charity
The Sunday event has raised $300,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
LONG BEACH, NY — While the winter has been unseasonably mild, it could definitely come in handy for swimmers taking the annual plunge for charity.
It's the return of the Long Beach Polar Bears on Sunday, Feb. 12.
Those taking part should use the Laurelton Avenue boardwalk entrance.

The quick swim is part of a fundraiser with Make-A-Wish, which has received nearly $300,000 in donations connected to this weekend's Polar Bear event.
Since 2000, the Polar Bears have donated more than $8 million to grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses.

As for the weather, the forecast is calling for a high of 43 on Sunday with a mix of sun, clouds and wind.
