Police Identify Cyclist Who Died In Atlantic Beach Hit And Run, Police Say
Police said a man died after a hit and run accident in Atlantic Beach Tuesday. Thursday, police announced they had identified the man.

ATLANTIC BEACH, NY — The cyclist who died after being struck in a hit and run accident in Atlantic Beach Tuesday has been identified, police said Thursday morning.
Nassau County police said 59-year-old Far Rockaway resident Tony Thomas was struck by an eastbound Honda HRV at 7:46 a.m. Tuesday morning near the intersection of Beech Street and Scott Drive. The driver of the HRV left the scene while Thomas was pronounced dead by Long Beach Fire Department personnel, police said.
The driver of the HRV, 67-year-old Erin Henry, was later arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident that caused a death, police said.
