Police Organize Community Block Party, BBQ For Families

LONG BEACH, NY — The National Night Out is coming to Long Beach.

The police department is partnering with the North Park Crisis Team for the community block party.

The inclusive Aug. 2 event is scheduled for Kennedy Plaza from 4-7 p.m. Kids will enjoy a bounce house and other activities.

The city of Long Beach said popcorn and cotton candy will be available. There will be arts and crafts, plus giveaways and music by Studio Noir.

As the city wrote on the flyer, the block party is designed to make "communities safer, more caring places to live and work."
