Re-Elect Steven Weitz, Fire Commissioner, Lido and Point Lookout Fire District

VOTE - December 9th, 4:00 - 9:00 P.M. at the Point Lookout or Lido Beach Firehouses. Absentee Ballots are Available Monday - Friday

A Message from Steven Weitz, Fire Commissioner, Lido and Point Lookout Fire District, a Candidate for Re-Election:

Residents of Point Lookout and Lido will be going to the polls on December 9th to select a Fire Commissioner for a five-year term. This is race centered on determining which candidate has the best credentials and experience to lead the fire district. The importance of this election cannot be stated strongly enough. Our residents’ safety and the overall safety of the district are at stake.

I have served our community as a Fire Commissioner for the past 10-years, and I have submitted competitive grants for Federal, State, and local funding that resulted in grant funding of $860,000. This grant funding provided much-needed equipment (including a new fire engine) and training – without any tax burden to our residents.

As a result of the grant funding, the Fire District has not increased the tax levy in 10-years, and the tax levy will NOT increase in 2015.

I recently negotiated and settled a Supplemental Super-storm Sandy-related Insurance claim. The Fire District received a check for nearly $445,000 (without ANY litigation).

New York State Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg endorsed my candidacy with the following statement, “I am confident that his seasoned experience, dedication, and many notable accomplishments make him the best candidate for the position.”

For the past 22-years, I have served as a proud member of the Point Lookout Lido Fire Department, and an Ex-Captain of Lido Engine Company.

As a firefighter, my certifications include: Class “A” Interior Structural Firefighter; New York State Certified Emergency Medical Technician-Critical Care; Adult & Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support; Adult & Pediatric Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support.

Now I need your support, and your vote to continue keeping the district safe and holding the line on taxes.

The election is December 9th, 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Point Lookout and Lido Fire Houses.

Absentee ballots are available at the Fire District Office in Point Lookout, Monday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Best Regards,
Steven Weitz, Esq.,

Commissioner, Lido and Point Lookout Fire District
