Scavenger Hunt To Celebrate Long Beach's Centennial

Registration is open for the May 14 event that includes visits to participating restaurants.

LONG BEACH, NY — To celebrate 100 years of Long Beach, the chamber of commerce and the city will host an app-based scavenger hunt.

It is scheduled for May 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Along with the way, participants to unlock fun facts about Long Beach's history, explore local businesses and complete challenges.

The scavenger hunt will also feature "Long Beach Best Bite," where players can visit select restaurants for a bite and a chance to win prizes.

"We are super excited to host this Centennial Scavenger Hunt. We have not been able to have a fun event like this in two years and everyone is looking forward to exploring our great city and all it has to offer," Leah Tozer, Long Beach Chamber Co-Chair, said.

The cost is $12 per person. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/adult. Participants are not permitted to use cars, electric bikes, boards or scooters, taxis or ride-sharing. To take part in the scavenger hunt, you can navigate the city on foot, bicycle, public transporation and the city of Long Beach trolley free of charge.

"From dining and shopping to learning about our rich history and enjoying our amazing views, we will showcase Long Beach's appeal as a year-round destination with endless activities and places to explore," Karen McInnis, Long Beach City Council President, said.
