10-Foot Shark Spotted Along Long Island Shoreline: Video
By the time officers arrived, the shark was no longer visible.

POINT LOOKOUT, NY — A viral video was circulated on social media Sunday of a 10-foot shark thrashing near the Long Island shoreline.
Jones Beach Lifeguards tweeted the short video clip of the shark. They said it was spotted in Point Lookout just north of the Lido Parkway Bridge.
According to their tweets, the state Department of Environmental Conservation and a Bay Constable were called the location. By that time,the shark had swum back into deeper water.

Rep. Kathleen Rice shared the video and said a commercial fisherman first reported the shark sighting to authorities.
"As the weather gets warmer and you visit our beautiful beaches, please be safe!" Rice tweeted.
