Shots Fired In Long Beach: Police Still Investigating Incident, Department Says

The Long Beach Police Department says it's still investigating a Monday incident that left a man with gunshot wounds to his leg.

LONG BEACH, NY — The Long Beach Police Department is still investigating the Monday incident that left a man with gunshot wounds to his leg, a department spokesperson said Wednesday.

The department said Tuesday that police had responded to the intersection of Riverside Boulevard and East Hudson Street after receiving reports of shots fired and an injured man. Upon arrival, officers found the man with gunshot wounds in his leg and treated him at the scene until he could be taken to the hospital.

Wednesday, a department spokesperson said there had been no updates to the man's condition.

“The quick actions of our responding officers were critical in stabilizing the victim until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene," Commissioner Richard DePalma said. "The teamwork between PD and FD ensured the victim received the necessary critical care he needed before being quickly transported to the hospital for further treatment.”
