Teenager Attacked In Island Park Robbery: Police
The attacker repeatedly punched a teenager, 18, in the head as he tried to leave his home during a robbery, police say.
ISLAND PARK, NY — An Island Park man was arrested after he robbed a teenager on Saturday morning, Nassau police said.
An 18-year-old man was inside his Brighton Road home waiting for his female friend at 10:20 a.m. when Xavier Sosa, 23, who lived down the block, ordered the man to leave his home, police said.
After the teenager gathered his belongings and then exited, Sosa punched his head, causing him to fall to the ground, police said. Sosa then repeatedly punched the teenager in the head, police said.

After falling, the teenager tried to pick up his belongings but was forced out of the house by Sosa and not allowed to retrieve his property, police said. The teen suffered swelling to his face and head and was brought to a local nearby hospital for treatment, police said.
Sosa was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree assault.
