Police Searching For Multiple Suspects In Teen's Stabbing Death

Another teen was hurt during the fight, which police are still investigating. Anyone with information is asked to come forward.

UPDATE, 3 P.M.: Nassau County police say they are searching for multiple suspects in the murder of 16-year-old Khaseen Morris, who was killed after being stabbed in a fight in Oceanside on Monday.

Police say the fight that occurred on Monday was planned, and happened due to a dispute about a girl, according to Newsday. As many as 50 teens were at the scene, many of them watching the brawl and some recording it, ABC7 reported.

Nassau police are now searching for six or seven teens who were involved in the attack. According to Newsday, police know the identities of the attackers and urge them to turn themselves in.

Police say that Morris, who was unarmed at the time of the attack, was stabbed in the chest during the fight.

ORIGINAL STORY: A 16-year-old boy was killed after a massive fight broke out between teenagers at a shopping center in Oceanside Monday afternoon.

According to police, officers were called to a shopping center at 2830 Brower Ave. at 3:45 p.m. When they arrived, police say they found 10 to 15 teens involved in a brawl. A 17-year-old boy had suffered a broken arm and swelling to his head. A 16-year-old boy had been stabbed, and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Later that night, police say that the 16-year-old, who was identified as Khaseen Morris, died from his injuries. He was a student at Oceanside High School.

The shopping center where the fight took place is down the block from Oceanside High School, and right next door to the Oceanside Jewish Center.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
