Video: Michael Valente Bridge Renaming Ceremony
The Long Beach Bridge was rechristened in honor of local World War I Hero and Medal of Honor Recipient.
Last July, the Long Beach Bridge was officially renamed Michael Valente Memorial Bridge in tribute to local World War I hero and Medal of Honor recipient Michael Valente. Though Valente died in 1976 at the age of 80, his family, friends and fellow veterans were present to mark this great honor at a ceremony at Long Beach City Hall on March 25.
