This Week In Long Beach: Petit Larceny, Threats And Menacing, Police Say

The Long Beach Police Department details arrests weekly.

LONG BEACH, NY. — The Long Beach Police Department released its crime report for the week ending Feb. 25 Wednesday, detailing the arrests made by LBPD within city limits.

The items reported took place between Feb. 11 and Feb. 24, and are as follows:

On Feb. 11, Long Beach police arrested 46-year-old West Chester Street resident Jeorking Amin Welker and charged him with second-degree menacing with a weapon, third-degree assault with intent to cause injury and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Also on Feb. 11, police arrested 38-year-old Park Avenue resident Obe Isaac Poindexter in execution of an open arrest warrant, police said.

Finally, in a third Feb. 11 arrest, police said they arrested 38-year-old West Chester Street resident Joann A Booker and charged her with second-degree aggravated harassment, police said. State penal code defines second-degree aggravated harassment as harassment with the communication of a threat.

The next arrest reported on this week’s release took place Feb. 21, when police said they arrested 22-year-old East Pine Street resident Ryan Eisel with a charge of criminal mischief with intent to damage property.

Finally, there were two arrests on Feb. 24, starting with the arrest of 52-year-old Far Rockaway resident Sherryann Jackson Anderson on a charge of petit larceny, police said.

The second Feb. 24 arrest came when police said they arrested 43-year-old JJ Evans Boulevard resident Christine Lyons and charged her with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
