LONG ISLAND, NY — Optimum is rolling out a new offer across Long Island that puts a dollar value on its pitch to win over wireless customers — promising either lower monthly bills or a $150 payout.
The company this week launched its “UnBig Your Bill” campaign, a retail promotion aimed directly at customers of AT&T and Verizon.
Under the program, customers can walk into any Optimum store with a copy of their current wireless bill and have it reviewed by a representative. The company says it will compare what you’re paying now to what you would pay with Optimum.
If Optimum shows it can lower the bill, customers can switch service on the spot. If not, the company will give them a voucher for a $150 gift card.
“Wireless bills have gotten way too complicated and way too expensive,” said Mike Parker, Optimum’s president of consumer services. “Customers bring us their bill, we do the math together, and either they save with us, or we give them $150.”
The offer comes as wireless companies continue to compete for customers, especially in areas like Long Island, where bundling internet and mobile service is a major selling point.
Optimum says its mobile service runs on what it describes as the country’s largest 5G network and focuses on simple pricing. The company is also promoting additional deals, including internet and mobile service starting at $45 per month, plus a limited-time offer of a free third unlimited line.
The “UnBig Your Bill” promotion is available for a limited time at Optimum retail stores. Customers must be the account holder and show valid identification.
