About The Candidates:

Farmingdale resident LiPetri is backed by the Nassau County GOP and won the Republican primary race for the 3rd Congressional District against Greg Hach, after votes were tallied during primaries on June 23. The 36-year-old has a background in law and is a former NYS assemblyman.

LiPetri told Patch he is a pro-choice Republican.

"I trust women to make choices that are right for them," he said. "What I am against are late-term abortions - that's too extreme - but I'll always trust women to make decisions for themselves.

According to LiPetri, the single most pressing issue facing constituents is affordability.

"We have to lower costs, cut waste, fraud, and abuse, and let taxpayers keep more of what they earn," he said.

LiPetri told Patch he rents an apartment on Long Island and sees first-hand how important affordability is:

"I'm watching generations of Long Islanders flee this state and I refuse to give up without a fight. I have skin in the game, and I want to make Long Island a place all generations can continue to call home."

Suozzi has been a U.S. representative for New York's 3rd congressional district since 2024, and previously served in the position from 2017 to 2023. Suozzi previously served as the Mayor of Glen Cove and as the Nassau County Executive.

His website states that he "has built his career as a reformer, willing to take on extremists in both parties and work with anyone of good will—within his own party or across the aisle— to get things done for the people he serves."

Results are unofficial until certified by the Nassau County Board of Elections.
