About The Candidates:

Hoyle, 28, of Glen Cove, told Patch he will bring a new perspective.

"I am not a career politician," Hoyle said. "I am someone who has been in analytics and finance for my entire professional career. I am going to take environmental threats more seriously, work on programs that provide housing to younger and older members of our community to prevent families and communities separating, and work to decrease our exceptionally high taxes and secondary town costs."

Hoyle added:

"I am Oyster Bay first. I have been a part of this community my entire life. I have seen my family, friends, and neighbors complain about the same things bothering them for just as long. It's money and representation."

According to the Town of Oyster Bay's website, incumbent Saladino was sworn into office as the 70th Town Supervisor on January 31, 2017, "and immediately took action to increase governmental accountability, transparency and integrity."

The website added:

"Supervisor Saladino kept his pledge to residents by cutting property taxes in 2018 and freezing property taxes in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. As a result, nearly $10.4 million is back into the pockets of homeowners rather than the coffers of government."

Gupta, 27, of Bethpage, told Patch she is willing to do the work to solve Town problems.

"I'm tired of having to pay for parking in the LIRR parking lots, and having no parking infrastructure available, especially in the abnormally snowy winters we've been having and will continue to have, and in general, I'm tired of a lack of action," she said. "All of the issues that the Town faces, to me, are solvable, and I think it just takes someone who's willing to do the work for it. I'm willing to do the work."

According to the Town website, incumbent Richard LaMarca was elected Town Clerk in November 2019.

"As Town Clerk, he prides himself on the quality of services that his office delivers for residents, providing assistance with passports, licenses, vital statistics, and permits. He has made it his mission to cut costs for taxpayers by implementing technological efficiencies."

The website added:

"A passion for community service led Rich from a career in financial services to one in government."

Results are unofficial until certified by the Nassau County Board of Elections.
