Free Dental Care Offered To Veterans At Long Island Office This Sunday

Dental365 will offer free cleanings, X-rays and exams to veterans on Nov. 8. Here's how to schedule an appointment.

MOUNT SINAI, NY — Veterans can receive free dental care in Mount Sinai this weekend as part of Dental365's annual Free Day of Dentistry for Veterans program.

The event is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dental365, 701 Route 25A, Suite A1, in Mount Sinai.

Veterans will receive complimentary dental cleanings, X-rays, and comprehensive examinations through the volunteer efforts of Dental365 dentists, specialists, hygienists, assistants, and support staff. Other same-day dental services may also be available.

The event honors Veterans Day, which falls on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

"America would not be what it is today without our Veterans and their service to our nation," said Dr. Scott Asnis, founder and CEO of Dental365. "We are proud to help them maintain their oral health as a small token of our gratitude."

The annual program began after a longtime Dental365 employee shared how her father, a veteran, had struggled for years to access affordable dental care. Dental365 said the program has helped veterans receive dental services ranging from routine cleanings and X-rays to extractions and deep cleanings, sometimes marking their first dental visit in years.

Jessica Colón, Dental365's chief of staff, helped launch the initiative, which has since expanded to several states.

"When we realized we could use our offices, staff, and partnerships to serve veterans directly, everything clicked," Colón said. "We opened our doors one Sunday—and people lined up outside before we even started. That's when we knew we could make a real difference."

In addition to Mount Sinai, participating offices this year are located in Forest Hills and New City, New York; North Grafton, Massachusetts; Lebanon, Pennsylvania; and Oregon, Ohio.

Veterans interested in receiving care at the Mount Sinai office are encouraged to call 631-473-5715 to schedule an appointment.
