Chinatown Subway Thief Steals Phone Out Of Woman's Hand Tuesday: NYPD
Police are looking for a man who stole a woman's cellphone right out of her hand at around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

CHINATOWN, NY — Police are searching for a man who stole a woman's cellphone right out of her hand on the northbound 5 train approaching the Brooklyn Bridge subway station Tuesday.
At about 7:30 p.m., the man approached the woman on the train and forcibly removed her cell phone from her hand, police said. The woman tried to chase the man down after they got off the train, but she fell on the staircase, police told Patch.
The man then fled out of the subway station towards Duane Street and Centre Street, police said.

The woman cut her right knee when she fell and was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital in stable condition.
Police describe the suspect as a black male who's approximately 18 to 2o years old. He stands at 6-feet and weighs about 150 to 175 pounds. The man has an afro and was last seen wearing a green sweater and light blue jeans.
