Sixth Annual Dumpling Festival Set for this Weekend
All proceeds from the festival goes to the Food Bank for NYC.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — Pork and kimchi, kale and vegetable, buffalo chicken: these are just a few dumplings you can try at the sixth annual Dumpling Festival this weekend. Not only will you leave with all your dumpling cravings satisfied, you'll also support a great cause because all proceeds from the festival go to the Food Bank for NYC.
Sara D. Roosevelt Park will play host to the festival this Saturday from noon to 4 p.m with a plethora of local dumplings, live entertainment and more. This year's theme is "There is a Chef in Everyone," and attendees will get the chance to channel their inner chef in dumpling-making classes.
A dumpling eating contest will also take place at the festival that attracts professional and amateur eaters from across the country. Last year, the champion broke a new record by eating 93 dumplings in two minutes. The first place winner wins $2,000, second place wins $1,000 and third place wins $500.
