2 Nassau Schools Named National Blue Ribbon Winners

LYNBROOK, NY — Two Nassau County high schools were among nearly 300 recognized as National Blue Ribbon winners by the Department of Education.

Lynbrook Senior High School and Valley Stream Central High School are part of the elite list.

Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona said being named a National Blue Ribbon school is based on overall academic excellence.

The schools also demonstrate how to make a positive difference in students' lives.

Twenty educational facilities statewide were honored.

An awards ceremony is planned for November in Washington.
