Our staff of 60 to 110 employees (seasonally) wants to make your cycling and home fitness experiences as convenient and enjoyable as possible. Long Island Swim School

Long Island Swim School is the teaching arm of the nationally ranked Long Island Aquatic Club. Our Learn to Swim programs create strong, safe, and confident swimmers for life. With locations in Garden City and Syosset we train over 2,000 children each week at every swim level from Beginner to Olympian. Long Island Swim School offers swim lessons for children ages 2 - 14years old. The main emphasis of our programs is to teach children to swim correctly and develop essential water skills in a relaxed environment. Our goal driven and technique oriented approach is the key to your child's success. Through skill based quality teaching our students develop a joy for learning and a passion for swimming. At Long Island Swim School, we teach children to swim the same way the best in the world do. By using age-appropriate, proven techniques children build real skills in kick, pull, body position, and breath control. Our logical, consistent progression turns every fundamental—whether blowing bubbles or learning butterfly timing—into a building block for efficient, confident swimming. Three people were robbed at gunpoint in a movie-style robbery in West Hempstead early Thursday morning. According to police, a 45-year-old man was driving two women, ages 38 and 41, on Sprague Avenue in West Hempstead at 12:30 a.m. when a tan Ford Escape cut in front of their car, causing them to stop. Police say two men, both armed with handguns, got out of the Ford and approached the car. In an attempt to escape, the man put the car in reverse and backed into a fence. Then all three got out of the car and fled. They returned to the car a short time later and found that various electronics had been stolen, police said. The first robber was a Hispanic man, 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, clean shaven, wearing a black jacket, black shirt, black jeans and a black beanie. The second robber was also a Hispanic man, 5-foot-10, 160 pounds, with a mustache, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, black shoes, a black beanie and a black ski mask around his chin. Police ask anyone with information about this robbery to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
