#67 - Care For Your Four-Legged Friends

Take your pet to Assisi Veterinary in Malverne for a check-up. There, Dr. Rick Guzman, who opened up his animal hospital in the village in 2007, his colleague Angela Spar, and the rest of the friendly staff will take good care of your furry friends.

In a typical day, the hospital cares for 20-30 patients, mostly cats and dogs, but also some small exotic animals and reptiles. They provide wellness exams and emergency care, along with dentisty, weight management, vet-stem therapy, laser surgery, ultrasound, euthanasia, DNA testing and more. 

The hospital also offers boarding, grooming and day care, and something extra special around the holidays. Your pet can pose for a photo with Santa during the Christmas season and the Easter bunny in the spring.

"There is a very warm, homey feeling in this town," says Maria Rodriquez, Assisi's office manager. "Malverne is like Mayberry. Everyone is always helping one another."
