LYNBROOK, NY — An empty home in Lynbrook was the site of a 75-person firefighting effort Thursday night after an alarm was raised just after 5 p.m., authorities said.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal’s office said the alarm was raised at 5:11 p.m., with the Lynbrook Fire Department responding to the home on Marshall Avenue and receiving mutual aid from East Rockaway, Hewlett, Malverne, Rockville Centre and Valley Stream departments. In total, authorities said 75 firefighters were on the scene and brought it under control in about 45 minutes.
No injuries were reported Thursday, officials said, but two adults and three teens were displaced by the fire. Serious damage to the house is being investigated by the Lynbrook Building Department, while the cause of the fire is being investigated by the NCPD arson/bomb squad and the fire marshal’s office, officials said.
