• Long Island Greenway: A 175-mile walking and biking path from Manhattan to Montauk is set to begin (newsday.com) — A Malverne resident's grueling walk from Buffalo to Montauk highlights how dangerous and fragmented Long Island's current routes are for walkers and cyclists. Suffolk County is now preparing to break ground on the first 12.3-mile segment of a 175-mile Long Island Greenway, a mostly off-road trail that would eventually connect Manhattan to Montauk and link with the Empire State Trail.
