Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages Visits Valley Stream 24 Schools to Inspire Student Civic Engagement
Assemblywoman Recognizes Those Who Ran for Student Council at Each School
The Valley Stream 24 School District recently welcomed Michaelle Solages for a special visit to all three of its elementary schools, where she encouraged students to become active participants in their communities and recognized their leadership efforts.
Assemblywoman Solages visited Brooklyn Avenue School, Robert W. Carbonaro School and William L. Buck School to present certificates to students who demonstrated leadership and initiative by running for Student Council. She applauded the students for their willingness to step forward and make their voices heard.
“We are grateful to Assemblywoman Solages for taking the time to visit our schools and inspire our students,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Unal Karakas. “Her visit reinforces the importance of student voice and leadership and shows our children that they can play an active role in shaping their communities, both now and in the future.”
