Best Of The Best: Top Students Selected From Local Class Of 2022

Lynbrook High School names its valedictorian and salutatorian.

LYNBROOK, NY — Seniors Emma Ward and Rachel Edelstein were selected as Lynbrook High School's class of 2022 valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively.

Both students shined in the classroom, but also made an impact within the Lynbrook community.

Ward, who carries a grade point average of 104.68, has spearheaded several philanthropic pursuits, including as founder of the SCOPE Club, she helped raise more than $13,000 to send underprivileged children to summer camp.

An AP Scholar with Distinction, Ward will attend Washington University in St. Louis,
Missouri.

Edelstein, who holds a GPA of 104.2, is the student representative for the Lynbrook SEPTA and has been an advocate for students with disabilities. She will attend Princeton University in the fall.
