If you are applying to college this fall, don't wait until the last minute to write your personal essay. The mistake a lot of students make is that they make their essay generic as opposed to tailored to the college they are applying to. Submitting a "one size fits all" essay shows that you are looking for an easy way out. This short-cut can be the difference between being "ACCEPTED" or being "DENIED". College admission offices receive thousands of applications each year, so be sure to write an essay that is memorable instead of miserable.
