Proposed New Store in Malverne

I am writing as a resident and this is my opinion and not of any organization I belong.

The other night at the Village board Meeting they discussed that there is a proposal for a new variety store to come into Malverne where our Village Grocery store has been. Well the talk around town is that it is a 99 cent store.

I have nothing against 99 cents stores I do frequent them in West Hempstean, Lynbrook, Valley Stream, etc. My concern is what is coming into Malverne is it an established store owner or a fly by night company.

I recommend that every resident attend the Special Exception Meeting January 17th 7:15 at Village Hall. There we can find out more about the store and if we want it in Malverne. Remember as tax payers we have the right to voice our opinioins to our elected officials. You can all email each board member to let them know what you think.

I personally hate to see an empty store but rather than a 99 cent store I would rather see an ACE Hardware. We have not had one in Malverne for the longest time. Or even a youth Center or Senior Center.

This is our time to find out and speak out. If you do not speak out now then you have no right to speak out later.
