A Hempstead man was arrested Monday night after state police say he kicked the driver out of a car on the Southern State Parkway after a fight and the stole the vehicle.
According to police, around 9 p.m. Monday, troopers responded to a call of a pedestrian in the center median of the Southern State Parkway, near exit 15 in Valley Stream. When they arrived, the man told the troopers that he was driving a 2010 Lexus ES 250 on the parkway with a passenger, Narain Bicessar, 43, of Hempstead.
Police say that Bicessar and the man got into an argument which became physical, and Bicessar started punching the man, who was driving the car, in the face. Bicessar then put the car into park while it was still in motion, police said.
