Children Can Attend Saturday Pre-K Classes

MALVERNE, NY — The Malverne Union Free School District is starting a Saturday pre-kindergarten program. It will focus on language improvement, cognitive growth and social development.

Registration will be held on Jan. 22, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.; Jan. 24, Jan. 26 from 3:15-5:15 p.m.; and Saturday, Jan. 29 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m at the Maurice W. Downing Primary School.

Children who were 3 or 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2021 and are toilet trained are eligible. It is free to residents of the school district.

Several documents are required for registration: Driver's license, school tax receipt, current utility bill, updated immunization papers and the child's original birth certificate.

Renters will need to show a lease agreement with notarized affidavit.

Classes will take place on seven Saturdays from 9-11 a.m. at the Downing School: Feb. 5 and 12; March 5, 12, 19 and 26; and April 2, 2022.
