Drug Dealer Linked To Fatal Overdose Arrested: Nassau Police

Police say the investigation led them to the dealer, who had morphine pills on him when police arrested him.

A Franklin Square man was arrested on Thursday after police say the drugs that caused a fatal overdose were traced back to him.

According to police, officers were investigating a fatal overdose that occurred in Wantagh. Police say the investigation led them to the area of Randolph Avenue and Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square, where they arrested Jack Gisonda, 54, of Theodora Street. Police say Gisonda had morphine pills on him at the time of his arrest.

Gisonda is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, Oct. 18 in First District Court in Hempstead.
