Duo Charged With Attempted Murder For New Year's Knife Attack: PD
Police say the two attacked a 17-year-old who was sitting in his car, slashing him in the face and stabbing him in the back.

A duo was charged with attempted murder following a New Year's Eve knife attack in Franklin Square, Nassau Police said.
According to police, officers responded to a call on Franklin Avenue in Franklin Square at 8 p.m. on Dec. 31 for stabbing. When they arrived, they found a 17-year-old boy who said he was sitting in his car when he was approached by several unknown people who began to bang on his door and demand he open it.
Police say the teen opened the car door and was then slashed across his face and stabbed in his back. The attackers fled.

After an investigation, police arrested Rachel Belizaire, 18, of Lee Street, North Valley Stream, and Kendly Fleurentine, 23, of E 87th Street, Brooklyn. Both were charged with second-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault.
Belizaire was arraigned in First district Court in Hempstead on Jan. 2. Fleurentine is scheduled to be arraigned later today.
