Echo Park Pool Reopens With Many Upgrades

The town closed the pool for most of the month to do more than $200,000 worth of work.

After being closed for nearly a month for hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of renovations, West Hempstead's Echo Park Pool reopend last week.

“One of the most unique features that Hempstead Town offers is an indoor pool facility,” said Supervisor Laura Gillen. “The work that has been completed will make this gem shine even brighter.”

Echo Park Pool was closed from Jan. 1 to 21 in order to complete the approximately $208,000 refurbishment. In addition to the general maintenance that takes place annually at this time of year, the men's and women's locker rooms, the weight rooms, steam room walls and showers were all resurfaced; the diving boards were refinished and resurfaced; the men's locker room had new lockers installed; and the pool had new LED overhead lights installed. Additionally, new sinks were installed in the men’s and women’s locker rooms, steam room benches were rebuilt and pumps were replaced.
