Elmont Pedestrian Hit By Car; Homicide Detectives Investigating
A car hit a pedestrian around 9 p.m. Monday, Nassau County police said.

ELMONT, NY — A pedestrian was hit by a car while trying to cross an Elmont road and homicide detectives are investigating.
A 2017 Mercedes-Benz crashed into the 72-year-old pedestrian near Linden Boulevard and 239th Street around 9 p.m. Monday, Nassau County police said.
The 57-year-old driver remained at the scene.

The pedestrian suffered multiple injuries and was hospitalized in critical but stable condition, police said. His name wasn't immediately released.
