Franklin Square Gas Station Worker Robbed At Gunpoint: Police

The man fled the Hempstead Turnpike gas station with cash and cartons of cigarettes, authorities said.

FRANKLIN SQUARE, NY — Police are searching for the man, who robbed a gas station in Franklin Square just after 6 a.m. on Friday.

Nassau police say the man entered the BP on Hempstead Turnpike and pointed a small black handgun at the sales clerk while demanding money from the register.

The man jumped behind the counter removing an unknown amount of cash and several cartons of cigarettes, before fleeing in an unknown direction, police said.
