Garage Damaged By Fire; 2 Firefighters Hospitalized: Police
A neighbor alerted the homeowner to the Wednesday night fire in Franklin Square.
FRANKLIN SQUARE, NY — A fire caused damage to a Franklin Square home and garage on Wednesday night.
The homeowner and her adult son were woken up by a neighbor ringing the doorbell about the garage on fire, police said.
The Franklin Square Fire Department, aided by 11 other departments, extinguished the blaze.

Two members of the Franklin Square Fire Department suffered from exhaustion and were taken to an area hospital. They were treated and released.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal is investigating.
