H.S. Students Seek Street Name Change For Man's KKK Past
Lindner Place is named for Paul Lindner, one of the founders of Malverne a century ago.

MALVERNE, NY — Students from Malverne Senior High School have been on a quest to have the street name Lindner Place changed.
The students conducted research and put together arguments for or against having it renamed.
Paul Lindner was an early settler and one of the founders of Malverne a century ago. However, Lindner was a high-ranking member of the Ku Klux Klan later in his life.

The students worked in cooperation with the Malverne Historical and Preservation Society and presented their findings to the village board in June.
Projects will be presented to the school community on Thursday evening. The event will include student-made documentaries, visual pieces and speeches.

Despite his role with the KKK, in 1926 Lindner founded the Malverne Bank, according to the West Hempstead Now and Then blog.
