Jan. 11: Snow on the Way, Library Board and Chamber Hold Meetings
Important information in Lynbrook for Tuesday.

Please welcome the newest addition to Lynbrook Patch — "5 Things You Need To Know Today," an informative article that lets residents know what's happening in the village each day. We'll let you know if an important community meeting is being held, what events are happening around town, and various other information about Lynbrook.
This article will run Monday through Saturday at 7 a.m. We invite all residents, clubs, organizations and businesses to send us your news, events, restaurant specials and more, which we'll happily include in the "5 Things You Need To Know Today" article, as well as in our regular events calendar. Email us at michaelr@patch.com.
1 — Seems like just yesterday we were telling you about the threat of a winter storm. Well, a couple days ago, to be exact. But once again a Winter Storm Watch will be in effect from this evening into Wednesday afternoon, with up to a foot of snow possible in the Lynbrook area. This will have dangerous impacts on the evening commute, so be careful out there.
And whether you're stuck in slow-moving traffic on Merrick Road, shoveling out your driveway, or building a snowman with the kids, don't forget to send us your photos from the storm. We're happy to post them on Lynbrook Patch.
2 — Weather permitting, the Lynbrook library board will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the library. Regular business will be discussed, and we'll have a writeup on the meeting for you later in the week.
3 — The Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce will meet at The Atria at Tanglewood at 8 a.m. Officials will discuss upcoming events, including February's annual Installation of Officers and Awards Evening.
4 — Later today, we'll have coverage of Lynbrook Mayor Bill Hendrick's State of the Village address, which he made last night at Village Hall. Other stories from the village board meeting will appear on Lynbrook Patch later this week.
5 — Wondering whether Lynbrook schools will be open tomorrow morning? You'll know when we know. We'll post cancellations and/or delayed openings for the schools and library, and other snow-related information which may impact you today.
