LI Woman Claiming To Have Coronavirus Spit At Officers: PD
Nassau police said Jasmin Santana, of Elmont, claimed she had coronavirus while spitting and coughing in a home then attacking officers.
ELMONT, NY — An Elmont woman was arrested Wednesday night after she claimed she was spreading the new coronavirus and attacked police, authorities said.
Nassau County police said a 19-year-old woman called 911 to report that Jasmin Santana, 38, of Troy Street, said she had COVID-19 and was coughing and spitting on doors throughout the home.
When officers arrived, they said Santana was drunk and acting irate. The officers tried to escort Santana to an ambulance for treatment, police said, but she became combative and fought with officers and spit at them repeatedly. During the struggle, police said Santana kicked an officer in the face, splitting his lip open.
