Long Island Man Sexually Assaulted 2-Year-Old, Stabbed 2 Women: Police

BREAKING: Police found him sleeping after he sexually assaulted a 2-year-old girl and stabbed two women, including his girlfriend, cops say.

A Nassau County man went on a violent rampage early Wednesday, stabbing his girlfriend and another woman, and sexually assaulting his girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter, Nassau Police said.

Tommy Vladim Alvarado-Ventura, 31, is charged with predatory sexual assault of a child, second degree attempted murder, two counts of first degree assault, second degree assault, two counts of third degree criminal possession of a weapon and third degree assault.

According to police, Alvarado-Ventura was inside the apartment he shares with his girlfriend at 590 Fulton Ave. in Hempstead late Tuesday night with his girlfriend’s 2-year-old daughter, 4-year-old son and another tenant of the apartment who was babysitting the children while their mother was at work.

When Alvarado-Ventura left the apartment around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, the 2-year-old could be heard crying, police said.

Alvarado-Ventura then went to El Mariachi Loco bar, located less than a mile away at 277 Fulton Ave., police said. While at the bar, around 2:20 a.m., Alvarado-Ventura became involved in an argument with a 24-year-old woman regarding the purchase of marijuana, police said.

The woman left the bar, but was confronted by Alvarado-Ventura in a rear parking lot where he punched and kicked her before stabbing her with a knife multiple times, causing her to suffer a collapsed lung, police said.

Alvarado-Ventura fled the scene before police arrived and the woman was transported to an area hospital for treatment, police said.

Alvarado-Ventura went back to his apartment around 3:15 a.m. and an hour later, his girlfriend returned from work, police said. A confrontation then occurred when his girlfriend saw that her daughter had suffered severe injuries that were allegedly inflicted by Alvarado-Ventura, police said.

The argument escalated and Alvarado-Ventura, after punching the woman, withdrew a knife and stabbed her multiple times, police said.

Despite her injuries, the woman was able to gather her children, leave the room and join the babysitter, who resides in another area of the apartment, police said.

Police were then contacted and when Hempstead Police arrived, they found Alvarado-Ventura asleep, police said. Alvarado-Ventura was placed under arrest without further incident, police said.

Alvarado-Ventura's girlfriend, along with her daughter, who was suffering from a sexual assault that police said was committed by Alvarado-Ventura, were transported to an area hospital where they were admitted for treatment.

Alvarado-Ventura will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead Thursday.
