
LYNBROOK, NY — The Lynbrook Board of Education proposed its 2023-2024 school year budget.
The district is proposing a $101.8 million spending plan with a tax levy limit of approximately $75 million, or 2.6%, which the district says is under the allowable limit by $1.6 million.
The budget calls for a projected increase to state aid of 24%, or $19 million.

A capital improvement is included in the budget, with the renovation of two classrooms at Marion Street and two classrooms at West End. An additional allocation of $500,000 would be used toward overhauling the elementary schools' cafeterias.
The budget will be adopted during the March 8 Lynbrook Board of Education meeting. A budget hearing is scheduled for May 3, before the final budget vote on May 16.
