Lynbrook H.S. Names Valedictorian, Salutatorian For Class Of 2023

Seniors Kate Chiuli and Nicholas Condeleo were chosen for their academic excellence.

LYNBROOK, NY — Lynbrook High School has named the top students for its Class of 2023.

Seniors Kate Chiuli and Nicholas Condeleo have been chosen as valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively.

As you'd expect, both students head to graduation with numerous academic pursuits.

Chiuli, who has a grade point average of 104.72, is the print editor-in-chief of Horizon, the school's newspaper.

Playing the violin since second grade, Chiuli is president of the Tri-M Music Honor Society.

Outside of school, she volunteers at the Tanglewood Preserve in Rockville Centre, where she helps care for the animals in their various exhibits. While she isn't committed to a school after Lynbrook, Chiuli hopes to become a veterinarian.

Condeleo, who has a GPA of 103.39, has a strong interest in science and math. He worked during the summer at Hofstra University in the Science Research program. He also participated in the Science Olympiad and Mathletes, for each he is the captain.

Condeleo also took part in the Science Bowl at Brookhaven National Laboratory.

In addition, he's a member of the Italian Club, which helped him communicate better with his immigrant grandparents.

Condeleo has not committed to a college, but hopes to study biomedical engineering.
