Lynbrook resident lands major role in local play

Magda Kubik stars as Mrs. Potts in Sacred Heart Academy's production of Beauty and the Beast.

Magda Kubik, a Lynbrook resident and junior at Sacred Heart Academy, will star as Mrs. Potts in the school’s production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Magda’s school acting credits include playing Mrs. Sowerberry and Rose Seller in last year’s production of Oliver as well as a Boylan Sister in Annie. Her creative outlets have extended to the Molloy Summer Intensive and Lynbrook Dance Workshop for the past 2 years and the Joyful Noise Choir for the past 8 years. Magda volunteers her time for production projects for Malverne TV. She also produced a film for SHA, highlighting alumna Mary Kim Sheehy Mehlman ’96 and her role as founder of the non-profit Rigme, Inc., which was used in a campaign that raised over $11,000 to build 2 wells in El Salvador. Magda says, “At Sacred Heart, I feel comfortable speaking my mind and have many opportunities to lead.”

Saturday, March 18 at 7:00 p.m.

Magda Kubik ’18 and Kaitlyn Stoyer ’19 will perform as Mrs. Potts on alternate dates.
